Unacknowledged!
by Awakenednow inso...i watched the new netflix movie, "uncknowledged" by dr steven greer today fierce hearing to dj's discussing it on the radio, minds blown.
it makes a strong case for ufo's and totally screws up jw doctrine about the earth having the only intelligent life in the universe, as it is where the issue of universal sovereignty is played out and decided....the gb will need to do some fast talking.
it will be fascinating to blow some jw minds with this.

Are You "Technically" Still A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus ineven if you don't regard yourself as a practicing jw, some may view you simply as inactive, a lost sheep, etc.. if you were baptized but not disfellowshipped or disassociated, you may still be a jw---right?
your thoughts please..

I'm no longer a JW though not disfellowshipped or disassociated. What JW's think I am is none of my business. -

Did you AWAKEN from the JWs by yourself?
by cultBgone ini was thinking about how so many posters here on jwn are frustrated and frantic to help their loved ones get away from the brainwashing of jws, and how much advice is given about how to help family members and loved ones.
i considered my own leaving and that it was internal turmoil based on the teachings getting weirder and child abuse issues, to name just a few, and it made me wonder:.
did you self-awaken or were you assisted by the gentle proddings of a friend or family member?

Believe it or not my awakening started from a casual reading of Matthew 24:45-47. And it struck me in a way that it never had before. I read it again and again. And from that point on I never believed the Watchtower's explanation. That lead me to do more and more research on the internet.

@flamegrilled: I could have written most of what you said word for word! I love my lucid dream state. I'm also amazed that people in my dreams tell me things I don't know. Weird. LOL

I've had sleep paralysis for as long as I can remember usually about 3 or 4 times a year. Until about 2 years ago it was always accompanied by a feeling that an evil presence was in the room and a feeling that something was sitting on me. After some research I learned that if I approach the experience without any fear then this would eliminate the feeling of an evil force. It worked. Even though I continue to have SP there is no fear or feeling of evil around me. Nor does it feel like something is sitting on me.
I then learned that sleep paralysis accompanied by a vibrational sensation means you're on the threshold of having an out of body experience. With some practice I can now say that I've experienced this too. Very real. There was a feeling of being in a higher state of awareness and I could see my surroundings and body lying beneath "me".

What's The Basic Vibe of Jehovah's Witnesses These Days?
by minimus indo you think they are zealous?.
happy, joyful?.
pessimistic, depressed?.

no lies please
A recent conversation I overheard is telling. A non-JW was asking a JW about how they enjoyed their convention during the previous weekend. The JW said it was very tiring. "You don't realize how sitting for three days can wear you out." That was it. Nothing about the joy of being at the international convention. (Neither of them was aware that of my JW history.)

One thing about this site that bothers me
by keyser soze inthe constant references to 'window washers' as something derogatory.. i understand the context of it-that most jws are uneducated, and unqualified to do much more.
but sometimes the references seem snobbish, almost mean-spirited.
one poster, on another thread, essentially referred to window washers as 'losers'.

Thank you for this post. Excellent point. Using 'window washer' as a pejorative term seems unique to former JW's. It seems that people who have never been affiliated with the JW's don't see it that way at all. Many here may be surprised to learn that there are people in the window washing business that also have college degrees. I know some personally. If you have good business sense there can be great money in it.

Physics: What are your thoughts on life in the 4th,5th,and higher dimensions?
by EndofMysteries inif you do a little research there are many physics forums, discussions, and books about this.
it's a bit challenging to grasp but it's very interesting.
if there is life on this higher dimensions, they could see us yet we would be unable to see them.

Great subject. It seems that quantum physics supports the idea of other dimensions scientifically. But determining what exists in those dimensions or whether humans could access them seems entirely uncertain. Some scientists suggest that only our consciousness, not our bodies could do so. Physicist and NASA consultant Tom Campbell gives lectures suggesting that it's not only possible, but has been done.

Great observation. I chose a window washing business AFTER working over 20 years in corporate jobs including middle management. I make more now and work less with far less stress. Corporate America can be a very stressful and unfulfilling place, I've learned. I have also met some very smart non-witnesses that are successfully and happily self-emplyoed window washers.
